The Love of God
Sister Glenn and I get to stay together another transfer!! I am so grateful. We have had such an awesome couple of weeks. Samantha is on date to be baptized in 2 weeks! Raymond is getting surgery today so we are not sure when we will see him next. Hes still stubborn as always but we are working on him. We had zone conference and our ward christmas party. We went on exchanges and sister Hope and I went to visit atleast 12 less active people and not a single one of them answered the door! But instead we talked to their neighbors and people on their streets and we know we were supposed to be in those areas to meet those people! It was so cool and it just shows that God is so aware of all of his children! His timing is miraculous. Someone gave us a christmas tree and someone else gave us ornaments and lights so our apartment is so cute and homey. We saw miracles this week from following the spirit. My testimony has grown so much! I learned a lot and I just wanted to share some insights i had this week.
20 And I looked and beheld the virgin again, bearing a child in her arms.
21 And the angel said unto me: Behold the Lamb of God, yea, even the Son of the Eternal Father! Knowest thou the meaning of the tree which thy father saw?
22 And I answered him, saying: Yea, it is the love of God, which sheddeth itself abroad in the hearts of the children of men; wherefore, it is the most desirable above all things.
23 And he spake unto me, saying: Yea, and the most joyous to the soul.
Christ's birth was an act of pure love. God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son. Jesus loved US so much, that he came down to earth to DIE for us and to be our savior. Mary loved God and wanted to obey him and to do his will. Joseph loved Mary and so he became Christ's earthly father. The shepherds and the wise men loved their savior and so they came all the way to fall humbly at the feet of a child.
Where do we fall in this nativity story? All of these people acted on their love. What can we give or do, BECAUSE we LOVE Christ? We can give like he gave. Serve like he served. Go about doing good. Love God and love our neighbors. The savior gave us EVERYTHING. We too, can give of ourselves to be more like Him this Christmas season. "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me". What can YOU do to show your love for the savior?
"For what we LOVE, determines what we seek. What we seek determines what we think and do. What we think and do, determines who we are and who we will become". As we love and seek Christ this christmas season, and always, we will become more like him. I know that the love of God is most desirable and most joyous to the soul. There is nothing else like it. I love being a missionary and sharing that love with others!! We can all share God's love!! <3 WATCH THIS VIDEO AND SHARE IT WITH SOMEONE. So good.
