What's the only man-made thing in heaven?
This week was great! It's always crazy to me when another whole week passes by. Time flies!
Raymond took us out to breakfast on valentines day. He told our waiter that if she didnt put a smile on her face, then she wasn't aloud to serve us haha.
He tried on his baptismal suit on sunday and it was the highlight of my week. HE LOOKED LIKE AN ANGEL in white. He is so excited for his baptism he keeps saying he wishes it was sooner. He is still sober and doing great.
We were tracting in a sketchy apartment building one day and this guy that had definately been shooting up in his arm right before we came and he opened the door holding a knife and then came out and started telling us about how he killed a girl and was imitating a fight he got in and STRAIGHT UP went to sock me in the face but luckily I dodged it in time so he missed hahahha dont worry we got out of there fast. I literally saw my life flash before my eyes tho. I also stepped on a rat this week. HAHAHA.
We were planning one morning and thought to go visit a member who's name we didnt recognize. We showed up and it was a member I had always seen at church but never met. It was a super rainy day and he seemed a little down and had been having a rough day. At church the next day, he came up to us and said "You were my rainbow on that rainy day. Y'all came right at the perfect time and I know god sent you to me". Its so cool how god uses us as his hands to show his love to others!!! I love it.
We knocked on a door this week and this sweet lady answered. She asked us, "what's the only thing in heaven that is man-made?" We were stumped and couldnt think of anything. She told us it's the scars in christ's hands. I thought it was beautiful. Christ kept the scars on his hands and feet to show us what he has done for us and who he become because of them. He became our savior! His scars make him our savior. And I think our scars make us who we are as well. Our scars should remind us, not of our past mistakes, but the person we have become because of them. They can remind us of the pains and sins we have overcome! Let your scars remind you of jesus and the HEALING POWER of his atonement!
3 nephi 11:14-15
"Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world.
And it came to pass that the multitude went forth, and thrust their hands into his side, and did feel the prints of the nails in his hands and in his feet; and this they did do, going forth one by one until they had all gone forth, and did see with their eyes and did feel with their hands, and did know of a surety and did bear record, that it was he, of whom it was written by the prophets, that should come"
I can't wait for the day when I get to feel the prints in the savior's hands. Have a great week! Love you all!
