6 Months!

Highlights of the past couple weeks :

I found out I am LEAVING teays valley (the area I've been in my whole mission)!! Transfers are on thursday. I dont know where I am going yet, but you will find out next week! I am so heartbroken to leave behind the people that I have grown to love here, but I am excited to make new friends and go to a new area where I can learn and grow even more. Literally everyone is freaking out about this virus going around called COVID-19. It's all anyone talks about when we go to their doors. We haven't heard of anyone in WV that has gotten it though!

We had a car fast (where we don't drive for a day, so that we appreciate our car more) and we had an appointment that was super far away and sister russell lost TWO toenails on our walk there hahaha.

Raymond wore a suit to church and I died. My cute mom sent him a tie so he wore it and was so happy. He is preparing to receive the priesthood and is planning to go to the temple in May with the ward.

We knocked on a door and a "prophet" answered and talked to us for ages and he blessed us as "prophetesses" and told us to go preach his words. He kept grabbing our hands and shouting prayers for us. We got the giggles so hard. 

We were tracting and met this lady on her porch and sat and talked to her for a while. She mentioned that her husband had passed away in January. She kept saying things like "I still catch myself talking to him sometimes" and "I like to play country music for him because that was his favorite" and we started to wonder where he was... sister russell asked and she goes "oh hes just inside. His body is starting to get warm though so I should probably bury him before he starts to stink". WHAAAAAAAT. She has had her husband's dead body in her house since January. So sad and stressful hahaha that's got to be illegal, right? 

We are teaching this couple - heather and eric. They are so cool and Eric taught us how to roll cigarettes the other day. We got on the subject of bohemian rhapsody and he goes "but have you ever seen bohemian rhapsody..... on shroooms???" HAHA hes hilarious (we should probably have a word of wisdom lesson soon lol). He thinks he was a turtle before this life. 

WV doesn't have a confirmed case of corona but that's just cause we are too poor to afford any testing :')

I hit my 6 month mark this week! WOOHOO! I am so beyond grateful for all that I've learned and experienced and for how much I have grown. I know the book of mormon is true. I know that god lives and that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is a god of miracles! He loves us so personally and so individually. Change is possible through the atonement of jesus christ. I know that Joseph smith was a true prophet of god and that god still speaks to us today through our living prophet on the earth, Russell M. Nelson. I am so grateful for the priesthood and for temples where we can be sealed to our families forever. I know that the gospel of jesus christ is the only thing that can bring us true peace and joy. I am so grateful for this knowledge in a world of constant chaos and distractions.
