the savior of MY world
Hello !!! I am doing great and still surviving quarentine! We have seen so many miracles the past couple of weeks! We went from teaching nobody to teaching 4 people!
Cathy : She was a referral from a member. She has had a super hard life, and we can already see how the message of the gospel is changing her. Everytime we teach something she is like "wow that is beautiful. That is EXACTLY what I needed to hear today".
Dwayne : He was taught by missionaries in the past, so we found him through area book. He agrees with everything we say and loves talking to us. He is praying about the restoration but "hasn't gotten an answer yet". We are going to try to help him understand what his answer could look like.
Bryan : He is the sweetest person alive. Also taught by missionaries in the past. He has been engaged 4 different times and all of them have been tragic endings. Super sad. Poor guy. Anyways, he talks a LOT and so we were worried that we would never be able to teach him anything. But then one night we got on the phone and he goes, "well, we've been talking for a while now, tell me what you believe. Come at me with both guns loaded". HAHA we JUMPED at the opportunity and taught the restoration. And WOW it was the best lesson EVER. He is going to pray about it.
Nainai : Okay best for last. We found nainai on a facebook group for Christians. He is from taiwan but speaks really good english. We asked him if he wanted to do a bible study and so when we facetimed him, he realized that we were missionaries and pulled out a book of mormon!! Apparently he has been taught in the past and he even goes to the english ward in taiwan! It was so so cool that we were able to find him. We have had a couple lessons with him this week and he says he wants to come to the united states and be baptized!! Ahhh it has just been the best thing ever to be able to teach him and study the book of mormon with him. He's literally the nicest person you'll ever meet. He always talks about wanting to go to "BYU salt lake city"
It has felt SO good to be able to find people to teach. Teaching people the restoration, and other truths of the gospel, is life changing. I LOVE sharing this message of HOPE with people who have little to no hope in their lives. I am so grateful to be sharing the most important message that anyone will ever hear. The truths of the gospel are so beautiful and simple and miraculous. It really is a wonder.
I have a lot of respect for people who don't go on missions, yet still survive spiritually. I don't know how I would've survived without learning the things I've learned by going on a mission. I know it is different for everyone, but I KNOW that I needed to come on a mission to build a foundation and testimony that I could rely on for the rest of my life. I have learned how to sacrifice, how to recieve revelation, how to listen to the spirit, how to make decisions, how to rely COMPLETELY on my savior, how to have faith, how to use the enabling power of the atonement, and SO MUCH MORE. The list is endless. My mission has made me more than I ever thought possible. And that is all thanks to the savior of the world. The savior of MY world. I testify that he is a life changer. He is hope. He is happiness. He is LOVE.
Still haven't been able to go out yet. We have been able to go take the sacrement at our bishop's house though, which was such a cool experience.
I love you all. Thank you for your constant love, support, prayers, and encouragement. I couldn't do it without you!
Love, phoebs
