God is Good
Hi everyone!! Sorry it's been a while! We have been so so busy. We are thriving out here in martinsville VA. I'm so happy! This has been such a good transfer. I cant believe it's almost over!!
Two of our friends, mike and margie, are on date for baptism!! We love them and we have even been able to teach mike in person these past couple of weeks which has been such a blessing.
We have been doing lots of service for members and at that llama farm I mentioned last time. It's so nice to be able to get outside and help people!! We also get to go to church now which has been so happy.
My mission president called and told me that two of the people I was working with in Radford passed away this week. One was Beula Hale. A sweet old lady we would call every week. And the other one was Anthony, a recent convert, that we would call and talk to every single day. The poor guy had SO many health challenges. He went to dialysis 3 times a week and the other 4 days he could hardly do anything. Nevertheless, he was the most humble human being I think I have ever met. He relied completely on God and didn't think twice about it. He gave God ALL the glory for ANYTHING that went right in his life. He loved Him with his whole soul. He didn't have much, yet he thought he had the world. His three favorite words were, "God is good". He was such an example to me of pure humility. Every day I would talk to him on the phone, I would hang up feeling 10X better than before with gratitude in my heart for all of my blessings, especially my health. He didn't blame God when things got hard, but rather thanked Him for his challenges because they made him stronger. I know that Anthony is FINALLY able to rest from all his worries, sorrows, and cares. "Blessed are the poor in spirit who come unto me, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven". I am so grateful for the knowledge of God's plan of happiness and to know that Anthony is at rest with his good God.
"And I soon go to the place of my rest, which is with my Redeemer; for I know that in him I shall rest. And I rejoice in the day when my mortal shall put on immortality, and shall stand before him; then shall I see his face with pleasure, and he will say unto me: Come unto me, ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the mansions of my Father. Amen".
Enos 1:27
I know that the Savior spoke those exact words to Anthony. May we all live our lives like Anthony, so that we too will inherit the kingdom of heaven and live in the mansions of our father! God is good.
I love each one of you! Thank you for your prayers <3 You are always in mine.
Love, sister brinton
