Yeehaw

YEEHAWW!! hahaha that is how someone answered their phone this week. We loved it.

This week went by so fast! We had a mission meeting in Charleston, WV so we got to go on a road trip and I got to see some of my favorite past comps :,)

We had another lesson with debbie about the plan of salvation and she loved it. Her mom passed away from alzheimers so she was so happy to know that she can see her again one day. We are going to have to move her baptism date back because she needs to get married or move out but needs to find a place.

I got real bad poison ivy from all my weed pulling which has been super fun for me.

I love the story of alma preaching to the people in ammonihah. Nobody would listen to him (relatable). He was cast out and "weighed down with sorrow, wading through much tribulation and anguish of soul, because of the wickedness of the people". He probably felt hopeless, helpless, and discouraged. BUT, god sent an angel to comfort him. That same angel that saved him years ago. "Blessed art thou, Alma; therefore lift up thy head and REJOICE, for thou hast great cause to rejoice, for thou hast been faithful in keeping the commandments of God".

No matter the circumstances or storms of life we might be passing through, we will always have a reason to rejoice if we are faithful and as we follow the Savior. "The lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the lord will be added unto them in his own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundred fold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude". We are promised so many blessings as we keep the commandments and follow the good shepherd.

Another lesson I have learned from this story is that God will send help and comfort and encouragement during our hard times. He may not send an angel. But he sends us family and friends, he sends us the beauty of this world, he sends us tender mercies, he sends us scriptures that bring peace to our souls. Don't give up! His fingerprints are ALL over your life. You just have to look for them.

"I testify you are beloved. The Lord knows how hard you are trying. You are making progress. Keep going. He sees all your hidden sacrifices and counts them to your good and the good of those you love. Your work is not in vain. You are not alone. His very name, Emmanuel, means “God with us.” He is surely with you".

all my love and prayers, sister B
