One Year!!!

Alohaaaaa everyone!
I hit my one year mark on the 11th! This has by far been the HARDEST year of my life. But also the most rewarding, joyful, life-changing, bestest year of my life. The past couple of weeks have been amazing!! We are having a lot of success. All thanks to heavenly father. So blessed!!! Sister Palmer left and I got a new companion and you're not going to believe who it is... SISTER RUSSELL. We were companions in my first area and we are best friends so it is going to be SUCH a good transfer. We have already peed our pants like 12 times from laughing so hard together.

Debby is doing awesome! She wants to be baptized like 2 weeks ago but her living situation just won't allow for it right now :( She needs to find somewhere else to live but can't financially afford it. We are praying for a miracle! We got to meet her fiance this week who is quite the character, but also wants to learn more and come to church! He hasn't been for 19 years, so that's exciting. His name is Brad.

I went on an exchange in Cotton Hill and I got to meet someone they are teaching named Adele. She has 2 pet rats that she calls "her girls". She brought them out and was letting them crawl all over her. One of them was albino and it crawled up to her mouth, put its little paw on her bottom lip to pull it down, stuck his head in her mouth and started DRINKING HER SALIVA. just wait it gets worse.... she starts laughing and goes, "you can get your mama juice later". HAHAHAHAHHAHAH NO FREAKING WAY. I can't.

We are teaching someone named Larry right now. Back in June, he was like 3 days away from his baptism and he ran into anti, so then he cancelled. We have been working with him since then and reading the book of mormon with him. Last week we had a lesson with him and he goes, "I have some good news" and we were like YES?! and then he told us he wanted to "join the saints and be baptized"!!! So so happy. He told us that he was looking at God as a puzzle and he thought he needed to have all the answers and have it all figured out right now. But then he realized that he just needs to have faith and trust God. We always read where he is at in the Book of Mormon and he was in Jacob 4, so we read that and it was PERFECT for him.

Jacob 4:8 said,
"Behold, great and marvelous are the works of the Lord. How unsearchable are the depths of the mysteries of him; and it is impossible that man should find out all his ways. And no man knoweth of his ways save it be revealed unto him; wherefore, brethren, despise not the revelations of God".

We may not have all the answers, or pieces to the puzzle, but that is where our faith comes in. He thought it was so cool how that scripture spoke directly to him. Great and marvelous are the works of the Lord!

Sadly, he texted us a couple days later, telling us that he couldnt be baptized at this time because of some "personal demons" that he needs to overcome. I was heart broken but I know that he will be baptized one day - whether in this life or the next :)

One last miracle - we were driving home one day from an appointment and we saw a guy on the side of the road and we both thought it was Larry so we decided to turn around and go talk to him but it ended up not being Larry so we drove away awkwardly but then decided we needed to go back and talk to him. He ended up being a member of the church and had been trying to get a hold of the church for 4 months but couldn't find a way!! He is going through some really tough times. We connected him with the bishop and we are going to start meeting with him - his roommate's wife was also a member of the church, so who knows - maybe we will start teaching him too!! God is so aware of all of his children! He knows you and loves you! He is reaching out to you. Look for him!

All my love!!!
Sister Brinton
