Sugar daddies and Sampson

Well from my caption you can probably tell it was a rather interesting week. Facebook finding is a gold mine, but also pretty risky business! I had 2 men ask if they could be my sugar daddies this week. It's very interesting...(to say the least) to be a missionary serving in 2021. One even invited me to his beach house for a couple weeks and said he'd pay for everything! My companions think I should turn him down... but idk it's been a while since I've been to the beach!! ;)

My companions and I were trying to come up with a good Facebook video to make for our page and I thought of the story of Samson and jokingly asked Sister Clow if I could cut her hair. She said yes...... (see photo below).

We video chatted our friend John this week (hes an old catholic guy we read the book of mormon with every day) and he was in the middle of PEEING when he answered our call. And he just answered it like nothing was going on. I dont think he knows we could hear the stream. We were so uncomfortable. Gotta love him though. Hes progressing really well and told us he knows the book of mormon is true!

I am LOVING the work here in Beckley and I'm seeing so many miracles! We got the highest numbers in the mission this week for finding new people to teach and sacrament attendance! It was such a fulfilling and successful week. I think we only had time to make dinner once this week! We called a lady who is married to a member and she asked us if she could get baptized! We are so excited to teach her the lessons again and to help her get baptized! We also had a facebook lesson with this sweet mom named Morgan that is TOTALLY searching for the truth. She was so genuine and excited to learn what we believe.

It's actually been so sad because literally EVERY single person we are teaching, has either had someone they love die in the past week or they are having life-threatening health issues. They have all come to us and specifically asked us to pray for them and their families because they know that God listens to us missionaries :,) but I know that he listens to ALL his children, not just those who wear black tags on their chest. It's hard because there isn't much we can do to help them but we CAN pray and we CAN help them strengthen their faith in jesus christ. A quote we've been sharing with them is from President Nelson - "The only way to take sorrow out of death is to take love out of life". And what type of life would that be?

I want to invite you all to take out your patriarchal blessings tonight and to read it, while taking note of two things.
1) Adjectives - How does God describe you?
2) Verbs or action words - what does God need you to do?

I have been able to do this this week and I was amazed at the answers I recieved. Our Heavenly Father knows you. He has a work for you to do. What are you going to do to fulfill his plan for you?
I promise that as you take the time to do this, you will find more purpose and direction to your life at this time.

I feel your prayers. Thank you. I love you!
Sister Brinton
